 Proposals to Provide Commercial Air Service at
Southeast Iowa Regional Airport
In anticipation of the end of the current two year Essential Air Service (EAS) contract with Air Choice One, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued an order to solicit proposals for all interested air carriers to provide EAS at Burlington for a new term.  In response to the order, the U.S. DOT received proposals from Air Choice One, a Missouri based airline and Cape Air, a Massachusetts based airline. Proposals in their entirety can be at:  under docket number DOT-OST-2001-8731 .
Cape Air proposed 24 x weekly service using a 9-passenger Cessna 402 Aircraft.  Flight schedule will be determined by the needs of the community, average fare is $70 each way.   
Air Choice One proposed using a 9-passenger Cessna Grand Caravan with two round trips to Lambert, St. Louis International each weekday and one each weekend (12 per week) and two round trips to Chicago O’Hare each weekday and one each weekend (12 per week).  Average proposed fare is $54.00 each way.  Air Choice One is the current carrier for Southeast Iowa Regional Airport.

Community presentations by both carriers will be hosted by the Southeast Iowa Regional Airport Authority Board on October 5th at 5:00 p.m. at the Greater Burlington Partnership 610 N. 4th St. Burlington, IA. The public is invited to attend.  Community comments and input is encouraged. Comments maybe e-mailed to or the US Department of Transportation to no later than Thursday October 12, 2017.
